Jeff Dixon and Quentin ArnoldDixon Stein was founded to provide dedicated personal assistance in selecting handcrafted stringed instruments for musicians of all ages. Located in downtown Chicago, Dixon Stein has some of the finest antique and modern violins, violas, cellos and bows. We take pride in providing one-on-one attention and strive to educate each musician in choosing the instrument that best fits his or her skill level and needs.

Here at Dixon Stein, we are all musicians. We know what to look for in a fine stringed instrument, and we focus on obtaining each piece’s peak craftsmanship and performance. Our set-up and restoration crew ensures each and every instrument meets our high standards of excellence.

Dixon Stein's inventory consists of superbly constructed instruments from Italy, Germany, Romania, China and the United States. We also work closely with the top renowned luthiers in Chicago and have violins, violas and cellos fresh from their workshops.
